Grant Programs

The Daybrook Foundation offers several grant programs for individuals and non-profit organizations located in the Gulf Coast States of Louisiana, Texas, Mississippi, Alabama, and Florida.

Daybrook College Scholarship Program

The Daybrook Foundation has established a scholarship program to assist Daybrook Fisheries’ employees and their children as well as residents of Louisiana, Mississippi, Texas, Alabama and Florida who plan to continue their education. Scholarships are offered each year for full-time study at an accredited institution of the student’s choice. Students from Louisiana are also able to apply for vocational training scholarships.

To apply for the Daybrook College Scholarship Program, students must have a minimum GPA of 2.5 and be currently accepted into a college or university. Proof of enrollment will be required and a check will be payable to your school for your account and mailed to your permanent home address. Scholarship funds are one-time awards but students may reapply each year to receive funding until a degree is earned. Scholarship America makes its selections on the basis of academic record, demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities, work experience, statement of career and educational goals and objectives, unusual personal or family circumstances, and an outside appraisal. Financial need will be considered. Once scholarship recipients are selected, financial data is reviewed to determine the amount of each award, ranging from $2000 to $25,000.

This scholarship program is administered by Scholarship Management Services®, a division of Scholarship America®.  Awards are selected by an independent committee at Scholarship Management Services and are granted without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sexual orientation, gender, disability or national origin.  Executives and employees of Daybrook are not allowed to participate in the selection process of award recipients. The Daybrook Foundation College Scholarship Program strictly adheres to IRS Code 76-47 which can be found by clicking here. The IRS code states that the Foundation is only allowed to grant a certain percentage of awards to employees or children of employees of Daybrook Fisheries, so please note that not every employee or child of an employee will be able to receive an award.

The 2016 Application cycle opens February 17 and closes March 31.
