The Daybrook Foundation

The Daybrook Foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit charitable organization dedicated to improving quality of life by supporting the general welfare, health, educational, and environmental needs of our local communities.

Founded in the wake of Hurricane Katrina, the Daybrook Foundation was established to provide immediate support to those affected by the natural disaster. The Louisiana communities which the Daybrook Foundation primarily serves have a long history of enduring socio-economic and environmental hardships like Hurricane Katrina and the BP Gulf Oil Spill. These environmental disasters have severely impacted the lives of families throughout Louisiana and especially Plaquemines Parish, where Daybrook calls home.

The Daybrook Foundation seeks to provide resources to its constituents so they may further their educational goals, improve environmental and coastal sustainability, and enhance the quality of life in their local communities. As the charitable arm of Daybrook Fisheries, Inc., the Daybrook Foundation is also committed to supporting research that will help guide sustainable fishing practices in the Gulf of Mexico. We invest in people, in their ideas and in the scientific research that will help guide sustainable practices in business and in our everyday lives.

The Daybrook Foundation provides grants in four focus areas: Community, Education, Sustainability, and Environment. Grants, including scholarships, are available to qualified individuals and nonprofit organizations that can demonstrate a clear need for support and objectives that are consistent with the Daybrook Foundation’s mission. Scholarship applications are reviewed twice a year and all other grants are reviewed on a rolling basis throughout the year.
